I am the Principal Psychotherapist at Sevenoaks CBT & EMDR. In
addition to my private practice in Sevenoaks Kent, I provide online video based
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and telephone support for individuals and
couples.
I have extensive masters
/ post-graduate level psychological training across a number of different
therapeutic approaches including mainstream Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, ACT,
CFT, DBT, REBT, EMDR, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Systemic Therapy.
Whilst I have extensive experience across a wide range of psychological problems, my clinical
specialism is in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and it’s
subtypes, including Relationship OCD, Sensorimotor, Hyperawareness, Pure “O”
and complex treatment resistant OCD presentations. This also includes the related problems of Health Anxiety, Somatic Disorders, Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours including skin picking and hair pulling.
My approach is
informal, down to earth and practical. I place significant emphasis on trust
and a strong commitment to change as well as a good sense of humour.
I encourage my
clients to focus on their values and what they want to change in their lives.
Sometimes this means talking about what is important and helpful in a
respectful and sensitive manner, rather than just saying what we are used to
or what we want to hear.
In addition to my private practise in Sevenoaks Kent, I provide specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies and EMDR treatment from Leitrim in the Republic of Ireland. I am also the Principal Psychotherapist at Think CBT, where I have provided clinical leadership and supervision to a team of over 250 psychologists and psychotherapists over the last ten years or so.
Alongside my clinical work, I am a qualified executive coach and an NLP master practitioner
working with senior managers and business leaders in the UK and
internationally.
I am an accredited
member of the BABCP, member of the BPS and Fellow of the CIPD. I abide by the
ethical standards laid down by these professional bodies in my clinical and
executive coaching work.
Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing appointments are £125 for a 60 minute appointment. Couples sessions are charged at £185. Typically, most clients achieve their therapy goals within eight-twelve therapy sessions depending on commitment and complexity.
Unlike many other forms of therapy, CBT therapeutic outcomes are specifically measured using specialist psychometric measures and direct client feedback. My clinical outcomes and patient feedback scores are consistently above 90%.
I can work with you
personally or where a different approach is required, refer you to another
colleague psychologist or psychotherapist in my role as Principal at Think CBT.
